money

Why?

Keith, a regular reader of The Footsieblog has suggested we invest £1000 of his money in various stocks in the FTSE.

The aim?
For The Footsieblog to double or even treble Keith’s money by midday on Friday 22nd December 2006.

Can The Footsieblog do it?

That was a challenge we were not going to turn down and yes we can!

What next?
Once we have Keith’s money, totalling £1000, we shall invest in various stocks.

Which stock?

The stock we choose to invest in shall be discussed at length once the purchase has taken place. We shall discuss the benefits or not of holding these stocks.

Will you keep the same stock all year?
No, The Footsieblog will be buying and selling various stocks for Keith in order to maximise his return.

Will there be updates?

Yes, The Footsieblog will post weekly updates on the total amount made (or lost!).

What broker are you going to use?
The money will be invested through Barclays Stockbrokers.

Can I join in?

Yes, you can invest any amount like Keith in your own stockbroker account.

When will the challenge start?
The moment we have the money from Keith, due within the next week. Then, The Footsieblog will post the first update.

When will the challenge end?

The end of the challenge will be midday on Friday 22nd December 2006.

The forfeit?
If the money has MORE than doubled by midday on Friday 22nd December 2006, £2000 plus, Keith has to buy me a bottle of Veuve Clicquot Champagne (circa £50). If the amount fails to double before midday on Friday 22nd December 2006, under £2000, I will buy Keith a bottle of Veuve Clicquot Champagne.

The conditions?

Day trading will take place only when necessary to maximise the amount of money made.
The money will only be invested and not used against CFD’s or Spreadbetting.

Keith has a right to stop the challenge at any time and withdraw all monies (well, it is his after all).
